Paper 4 Trees Programme

Paper4trees - Recycling

Pomaria Primary School Learners have been recycling paper and cardboard. The recycled materials are collected into classroom bins provided by The paper4trees Programme. Once the bins are fill, they are put at the school gate for collection every fortnight or in the Large Recycling bin.

2010 saw Pomaria School received their first five free trees sponsored by Fonterra. We celebrated the incredible work of the recycling team at School Assembly. We took this opportunity to promote the importance of recycling. If we do our Duty, we will make the world a better place to live in. In 2011 we received even more beautiful native trees which were planted around the school. 2012 saw the most trees earned, a massive amount of 80 plants. 2013 has seen a change of sponsor, thank you to The Lion Foundation.

The Pomaria community would like to thank The paper4trees Programme for the wonderful native trees and for providing the green bins for recycling. Most of all we would like to thank The Lion Foundation for making the Paper 4 Trees Programme possible and Totara Grove Nursery for the wonderful trees.
