Numeracy

Place Value

We explored number using place value blocks. We looked at the tools and made connections. We worked together to find out how many tiny cubes made up one long stick, how many sticks made a flat, square block and how many flat square blocks make one big cube.

We learned that the little cubes equal one. We could have 9 of these.

One stick equalled 10. We could  9 of these.

One flat, square block equalled 100. We could have 9 of these.

And one big cube equalled 1,000.

We had fun racing each other to make numbers like 4,251.
