ESOL SHINING STARS

Warmest greetings to one and all.  Welcome to our home page for ESOL SHINING STARS.  We have the privilege of working with ESOL learners from Year 1 - Year 6.  Our programme encompasses the 4 modes of English including Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing.   The ESOL programme is an integral part of  classroom programmes throughout the school, including integration and alignment of aspects of the current term value and inquiry concept.

We like to make learning fun, challenging and engaging for our learners, whilst providing a safe, warm and colourful environment where they can have a sense of belonging and ownership.   Learners are constantly challenged and encouraged to be active participators and contributors in learning activities and mapping of our classroom displays.

Culture diversity is valued, encouraged and celebrated.  Learners are encouraged to share and show pride in their own and others culture and language.

ICT is also an integral part of our programme, where various tools and applications are used to support learning in ESOL.

Whanau are welcome to visit our special learning hub, to observe the interesting and exciting learning journeys taking place.
